Rory Mullen

DO

Dr. Mullen is a board-certified physiatrist with a strong foundation in musculoskeletal and spine care. He joins Pain and Rehabilitative Consultants Medical Group after serving as Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. A graduate of Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Mullen completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he was recognized as a top academic performer. His training and clinical experience emphasize a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to musculoskeletal rehabilitation and interventional spine care.

Dr. Mullen is skilled in a wide array of procedures including diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided joint injections and nerve blocks, fluoroscopic-guided lumbar interventions, electrodiagnostics, and regenerative medicine. He also brings extensive experience in opioid tapering strategies and functional restoration for complex pain conditions. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Mullen has served with distinction as a U.S. Army physician, most recently as a Battalion Surgeon deployed to Eastern Europe. His dedication to service and patient care has been recognized through multiple awards, including the Joint Service Commendation Medal and selection as Preceptor of the Year.

Outside of his clinical work, he finds meaning in movement, nature, and family—often exploring national parks with his wife, and dog and cooking meals in their backyard.
